FAQs
What do I need to bring for my pet's first groom?
We strongly recommend your pet be current on their annual and rabies vaccinations. Please bring your shot records on your first visit.
Is toenail cutting included in grooming?
Yes, cutting and Dremeling is included at no extra fee.
Can you tranquilize my pet to perform grooming services?
No! If you feel your pet needs sedation you must first contact your vet. They will give you a prescription for a sedative. Please give your pet their medication one hour prior to their grooming appointment.
How long will my pet's grooming take?
We like to ask for 2 hours for grooming. However, occasionally there may be unforeseen circumstances which may result in your pet's grooming taking a bit longer. You will receive a phone call as soon as your pet is ready.
Will my pet be kept in a kennel?
Yes. For the safety of your pet and others we believe it is important to keep dogs separate. If you have more than one pet they can be kenneled together if you'd like.
When should puppies have their first groom?
We recommend as soon as your puppy has their vaccinations. The younger you start your puppy, the easier it is for grooming to become an enjoyable experience.
How often should I have my pet groomed?
The recommended time between grooms is usually 6 to 8 weeks. However, this can vary depending on coat type, length of coat, and how quickly your pet's toenails grow.
Can I request a groomer?
Absolutely! Be sure to make your request when you schedule your pet's appointment.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
Should I tip the groomer?
If you are satisfied with your grooming service tipping is always appreciated. We understand grooming can be expensive... We also accept cookies.
Will you accept my pet if they bite?
Of course. Our groomers are very experienced in grooming pets with behavior problems. Please advise our groomers of any problems your pet might have. Quite often, by talking calmly and moving slowly we can calm a nervous pet down. However, if your pet is severely aggresive we may recommend making a vet appointment for sedatives.
What if there is a medical emergency with my pet?
We are located inside Acoma Animal Clinic. Our veterinarians can treat your pet with your permission.
Do you groom cats?
Yes. Our groomers are experienced at grooming your feline pets as well.
